The Problem of Plant Blindness: Why Public Gardens Matter

Benjamin Futa is the Director of the Allen Centennial Garden at UW–Madison. Mr. Futa is passionate for connecting people to plants, and has experience working in a range of public gardens. His primary interests lie in the power of urban gardens to transform their surrounding communities and landscapes.

In his talk, “The Problem of Plant Blindness: Why Public Gardens Matter,” Mr. Futa explores the condition known as “plant blindness” and discover how public gardens throughout North America and beyond are connecting their audiences to plants in new and innovative ways.
