In recognition of National Library Week, join us for a free screening of the award-winning PBS documentary The Librarians on Wednesday, April 23 at Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the film will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a runtime of 85 minutes.
The Librarians documentary follows librarians across the country as they are confronted by rising efforts to remove books from library shelves. Set against the backdrop of unprecedented censorship in states such as Texas and Florida, the film highlights the important role libraries and library professionals play in protecting intellectual freedom and ensuring access to information.
Following the screening, there will be a brief discussion panel featuring local librarians who will reflect on the themes of the film and share perspectives from our own communities. We hope you will join us for this timely and engaging evening of film and conversation.
No registration is required. We hope to see you there!
