Sensory Playtime

Specially geared for children who have a variety of diagnoses including (but not limited to) autism, sensory processing disorder, ADD/ADHD, intellectual or developmental disabilities and their caregivers, but open to all youth (under 13 years old) of all ability levels. Our sensory playtime program is set up as a variety of tactile, sensory activity stations that children are free to explore with their caregiver. Each month is a different theme. April's theme is bugs and insects. Stations may include shaving cream, sand, water, and/or food items. Dress to make a mess. Research shows sensory play supports children in their brain development, language development, gross and fine motor skills, as well as improving their ability to socially interact. Stop by for a little while or stay the whole time. We look forward to seeing you. Prepare yourself before you come by checking out our FREE sensory library app (Sensory WJN) which includes social narratives, a visual schedule feature, tap to talk communication features, and helpful tips for your visit.
