Winter Reading Challenge

Join W.J. Niederkorn Library's Winter Reading Challenge for all ages - BINGO style!  Get 5 IN A ROW — up, down, across, or diagonal — to win! Return this sheet to the library when you complete a BINGO and receive your prize! If you get a BLACKOUT, you can enter into a drawing for a grand prize!  Pick up your BINGO sheet at either circulation desk between January 2 - February 28.

Sensory Playtime

Specially geared for children who have a variety of diagnoses including (but not limited to) autism, sensory processing disorder, ADD/ADHD, intellectual or developmental disabilities and their caregivers, but open to all youth (under 13 years old) of all ability levels. Our sensory playtime program is set up as a variety of tactile, sensory activity stations that children are free to explore with their caregiver. Each month is a different theme. Stations may include shaving cream, sand, water, and/or food items. Dress to make a mess!January - Let It Snow February - TransportationResearch shows sensory play supports children in their brain development, language development, gross and fine motor skills, as well as improving their ability to socially interact.Stop by for a little while or stay the whole time. Computer Basics: Internet Browsing

Never used a search engine before? In this computer basics class, first learn about what a computer is and how to use a mouse and keyboard. Then, learn to navigate your way around websites. This class will help you learn about search engines and get you starting searching the internet. Adult Services Librarian, Alyssa will also be able to answer technology questions after the class located upstairs in the computer lab.
